Every job shows the salary

There is no way to post a job on CITADEL without stating what it pays. Not “competitive”, not “negotiable” — a figure, in Tanzanian Shillings.

This is the rule employers push back on most, and we are keeping it. When pay is hidden, the person who already knows the market gets the better deal and everyone else guesses. It wastes the candidate’s time and the employer’s. Publishing the number costs an employer nothing and saves both sides a fortnight.

Employers are checked

An employer can submit their registration documents and our team checks them by hand. Companies that pass carry a verified badge everywhere they appear.

We are honest about what that badge means: it means we have seen evidence that the company is a real, registered business. It is not a judgement about whether they are a good employer. And no employer on CITADEL may ever ask a candidate for money — at any stage, for any reason. If one does, tell us and we will remove them.

Your data is yours

A job board holds some of the most personal information a person has: their CV, their phone number, what they earn and the fact that they are quietly looking. We treat that seriously.

You are not listed in our talent directory unless you switch it on. Employers browsing it never see where you work now. And your CV and contact details only reach an employer when you apply to them, or when they pay to unlock a profile you chose to publish. The privacy policy spells all of it out, including your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act.

Built for Tanzania

CITADEL works in English and Kiswahili, and every email we send is in the language you chose. Salaries are in Shillings. Locations are Tanzanian regions and districts, from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma to Mwanza. It is built for how people here actually look for work — which includes working properly on a phone, on a modest connection.
